           Inauguration of the PNP FORENSIC EXPLOSIVE LABORATORY on February 1, 2007. The event was attended by the Australian Ambassador to the Philipppines, His Excellency Tonny S Helly. PNP Forensic Explosive Laboratory is and additional facility of the Forensic Chemistry Division whose function is to determine the presence of different chemical found in post blast debris and suspected explosive materials.
The PNP Forensic Explosives Laboratory was created through the Philippines-Australia Counter Terrorism Capacity Building Project with the active support of the Australian Federal Police. The grant support includes laboratory set-up, high tech equipment, supplies and training.

           On the occasion of the 16th PNP Anniversary Celebration last January 31, 2007, PNP Crime Laboratory was adjudged as “Best National Operational Support Unit of the Year 2006” during the incumbency of PCSUPT ARTURO G CACDAC JR, in view of its outstanding performance in providing technical support to the different investigative units, thereby contributing immeasurably to the attainment of the overall mission and objectives of the Philippine National Police. |

           To further raise its operational effectiveness and efficiency level in terms of organizational management and operational outputs, the second quarter O CY 2006 highlights the successful accreditation of PNP Crime Laboratory by the CERTIFICATION INTERNATIONAL PHILIPPINES, INC of ISO 9001:2000 “Forensic Investigative Service” for Quality Management System Certification last June 6, 2006. |
           The PNP Crime Laboratory, Disaster Victim Identification Task Group was activated on June 1, 2006. The Australian Federal Police took an active role in trining several PNP personnel in Disaster Victim Identification using the INTERPOL Protocol. PNP Crime Laboratory also received a fully furnushed DVI trailer van from the Australian Federal Police. |

           PRESIDENTIAL CITATION was awarded to PNP Crime Laboratory on March 15, 2006 for participating in the conduct of Disaster Victim Identification of the Crime Laboratory personnel to the victims of the Southern Leyte mudslide. |
           PNP Crime Laboratory is the principal implementor of the PNP Eye Bank Foundation MOA for the voluntary corneal harvest from the cadavers-Social contract in service to humanity.
. Moreover, it is the primary implementing unit of one of the PNP’s direct commitment to humanity through the MOA with Eye Bank Foundation of the Philippines. The MOA between the PNP and Eye Bank Foundation of the Philippines directs the PNP Crime Laboratory to undertake coordinative actions for the harvest of cornea from decedent donors. Through this functional arrangement, man’s natural compassion towards his fellowmen is directly manifested. |
