Hawk. The hawk is the symbolic representation of the Group as the monitoring arm of the PNP. It signifies agility, cunning, alertness and superior control of complex situations. It also symbolizes excellence in the performance of its mission and targets. Shield. The shield symbolizes IG’s pledge, and continuous commitment to defend the ideals of democracy. It is also a symbol of duty and responsibility which every unit carries in righteousness. Kris and Spear. They stand for the courage and the iron-will in defending the Filipino people and upholding the Philippine Constitution. Seventeen Links (chain of). They stand for the seventeen (17) Regional Intelligence Offices (RIOs) which are strategically located in every region. The Numerals (1979). It corresponds to the year the Group was activated as the Intelligence operating arm of the PC/INP, joining the line of elite intelligence institutions in the country in the pursuit of justice. Colors: Black. It stands for IG’s covert operations, pictured as a “cloak” is the symbol of in conspicuity that protects the Group from external forces which might jeopardize the successful performance of missions vital to national security. Yellow. Amidst the “cloak of darkness” is a guiding light, symbolized by the color yellow which ensures that justice and righteousness accompany the performance of the unit’s missions. Red. It symbolizes the courage and fire of commitment of the men and women of IG who are willing to offer their lives for the country.
PERFORMANCE HIGHLIGHTS No fear against high-profile targets For the period July 2003 to June 2004, PNP's Task Force Sanlahi led in the operations that resulted in the capture of Abu Sayyaf Group members, namely, Said Usman, Nasser Bubakar Omar, Said Arik Arasid, Engr Ashraf Barreto, Wahid Salcedo and Edzmar Jalisan Hayudini, for kidnapping and invlovement in bombings in Mindanao. A total of 87 Most Wanted Persons with monetary reward were neutralized. These include leaders of terrorist groups, kidnapping syndicates and other criminal groups, such as Abdulmukim Ong Edris, Taufek Refke, Omar Opek Lasal, Fathur Rohman Al-Ghozi, Roberto Obeles Yap, Allan Niegas, Tony Castro, Reynaldo Cacho, Joey Bunales, Ronnie Tan, Arnel Suellen, Teddy Padre, Felicano Laygo, Jeremie Capispisan, Reynaldo Baniqued, Richard Salvador, Arnel Bergonia, Domingo Fabros and Rodolfo Gamay, Sr. Members of the Abu Sayyaf Group were also neutralized, including Abdul Ajid, Almasul Mawadi, Mudjin Sali, Asirin Suhud, Salasim Suhud, and Ghalib Andang alias Commander Robot. Among the Most Wanted Persons (MWPs) arrested by the Intelligence Group was Teddy Alupay Padre, listed as Number 8 National MWP in the NAKTF list of Kidnappers carrying a reward of P500,000. He was arrested by joint elemets of the NCRIO of this Group, DIID and DPIU, Central Police District and NCRPO for the crime of kidnapping. Arnel Nalagan Suelen, listed as one of the national MWP in the NAKTF list of kidnappers with a reward of P500,000, was arrested by the RIO 6 of this Group and the Aklan PPO. Reynaldo De Vera Cacho alias Boy, listed as number 8 national MWP in the NAKTF list of KFR and affiliated with the Estrada KFRG, crrying a reward of P500,000, was arrested by joint elements of RIO 8 of this Group, RIID-PRO9 for the crime of kidnap for ransom. Among the Regional Most Wanted Persons arrested by the Intelligence Group, was Jeremie Molo Capispisan, alias Bobot, listed as one of the MWP in Region 3 for the crimes of homicide and murder and carrying a reward of P500,000. Arnel Mendoza alias Enting, listed as one of the TMWP in Region 1 for the crime of murder and carrying a reward of P300,000, voluntarily surrendered to elements of this Group. Charlie Rivera Parrochas, listed as one of the MWP in Region 1 for the crime of murder and carrying a reward of P300,000, was arrested by joint elements of RIO 1 of this Group and RIID, PRO 1. Jemar C Maningbayan, listed as one of the MWP in Region 6 for the crime of multiple murder and frustrated murder and carrying a reward of P300,000, was arrested by joint elements of CIO of this Group, PACER-Visayas and DI-ITG. Roy Focbit, listed as one of the MWP in Region 6 and carrying a reward of P300,000, was arrested by joint elements of RIO 6 of this Group, PACER 6 and the RIID-PRO 6 for the crime of murder (2 counts) and frustrated murder. Pepito Luciano Linsangan alias Eboy, listed as number 5 MWP in Region 10 and carrying a reward of P300,000, was arrested by joint elements of RIO 10 of this Group and RIID, PRO 10 for the crime of murder. Juvy Casas Lusaya, listed as one of the MWP in Region 6 who carries a reward of P300,000, was arrested by joint elements of RIO 6 of this Group for the crimes of multiple murder and frustrated murder. |
