LSS Logo Symbolism The Circular form of the seal symbolizes the wheel which also evokes the dignity of labor and progress. The word “TAGATUSTUS”, meaning "support", describes the essence of its being PNP denotes the command level where the planning and execution of its various operations are directed in furtherance of its multi farious mandated functions. The AIRPLANE, SHIP and TRUCK symbolize the important logistics functional areas of supply distribution and transportation support. The THREE (3) STARS represent the three main islands of the archipelago namely : Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao representing the territorial coverage of LSS Support. The SAMPAGUITA connotes the positive virtues and attitude fostered by among the LSS personnel.
Performance Highlights Responsive and attuned to the logistical requirements of our men in the field The PNP Logistics Support Service (LSS) has five line divisions: Procurement Division, Supply Storage and Distribution Division, Supply Accounting and Monitoring Division, Transportation and Maintenance Division and Explosive Ordinance and Disposal Division. The most delicate aspect of logistics is the procurement of supplies and equipment. It involves tedious documentation and deliberation by the PNP Bids and Awards Committee (BAC), PNP Negotiation Committee (NC), LSS BAC and LSS NC through the conduct of public bidding, negotiation or emergency purchase. The LSS provides mobility to PNP units by making available transportation to personnel, cargoes and relief goods. It also conducts EODD bomb Threat Awareness lectures and seminars for different law enforcement agencies. Police Information and Education on Security Procedures, Programs and Policies to instill a deep sense of security awareness among its personnel and to keep them apprised on issues and concerns are regularly conducted to ensure the effective implementation of LSS objectives. The procurement of vehicles was done with the intention of ensuring that as many units have the necessary means to get the job done. The list of vehicles distributed to units nationwide include 127 patrol cars, 40 patrol jeeps, 26 4x4 jeeps, 5 land rover / land cruisers, 14 units 3/4 troop carrier, 6 multi-cabs, 5 SOCO vans, 3 surveillance cars, 58 4x4 pick-up trucks, 100 units 125cc motorcycle, 6 units 250cc motorcycle 106 units 200cc 4-stroke motorcycle, 1 firetruck and 1 tow truck with hydraulic unit. Further improving the fill-up of firearms was purchase of 2,000 pieces cal 9mm pistol which were distributed to regional offices and support units. Long firearms fill-up increased to 60.24% from the additional 1,575 M16 rifles that were refurbished for used of various units. Other ordinance items such as non-lethal equipment and ammunitions, and rifles with sniper scope, were also added to the PNP arsenal. |
