RAZON ASSUMES COMMAND OF METRO MANILA POLICE OFFICE Police Director Avelino I Razon Jr. formally assumes command as Regional Director of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) tomorrow replacing Police Director Ricardo F De Leon. De Leon has been designated as Executive Director of the Philippine Center on Transnational Crime (PCTC) under the Office of the President. De Leon will relinquish command of the NCRPO during simple change of command ceremonies at the NCRPO headquarters in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig tomorrow. The designation of Razon to head the Metro Manila police force is among the initial organizational changes in key positions in the PNP following this morning's assumption of Deputy Director General Edgar B Aglipay as the 11th Chief of the PNP. As NCRPO Regional Director, Razon will be in command of all police operations in the 13 cities and municipalities of Metro Manila thru the five Police Districts. In tomorrow's change of command ceremony, Razon is expected to lay down his anti-criminality program of action for Metro Manila, primarily thru police visibility, increased patrol operations, and intensified house-cleaning efforts. Razon is erstwhile PNP Director for Operations (DO) stationed at the National Headquarters in Camp Crame , a position he held after serving as PNP Director for Human Resource and Doctrine Development (DHRDD). He was former Regional Director of Police Regional Office-7 in Central Visayas, and was also former District Director of the Western Police District, which has jurisdiction over the entire City of Manila . A graduate of the Philippine Military Academy “Marangal” Class of 1974, Razon also holds a Master in Management degree from the Philippine Christian University. |
