PNP SUPPORTS PRESIDENT GLORIA'S 10-POINT SOCIO-ECONOMIC AGENDA Director General Hermogenes E Ebdane Jr. today rallied the 114,000-strong Philippine National Police in full support of the 10-point socio-economic reform agenda of President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo. “Now that a new president has been elected and sworn into Office, it is time for everyone to do his individual share and put these into collective action so the country can continue to move on,” Ebdane said. “For our part in the Philippine National Police, we shall continue to ensure a safe and peaceful environment in the urban centers and in the countryside as a foundation for President Arroyo's socio-economic agenda,” he PNP Chief said. Ebdane emphasized that peace and order are crucial factors in insuring a safe and secure economic environment for industry to grow and generate jobs for Filipinos. In her inaugural speech, President Arroyo announced her vision to create at least six million jobs within the next six years on top of her 10-point agenda. Ebdane said industrial zones in different parts of the country had been the focus of intensified police security campaigns against organized crime and syndicated felonies. Ebdane noted that thru aggressive police action, a significant reduction in hijacking and highway robbery of commercial cargo has been achieved over the past years within the industrial zones in CALABARZON and Central Luzon.
