GERMAN AND COHORTS SUSPECTS IN BORACAY SLAY

ILOILO CITY —Police have established a link between a German national and four other suspects in the killing of three foreigners and a Filipina in Bocaray Island two weeks ago.

In his report to PNP Chief, Director General Hermogenes E Ebdane Jr., Chief Superintendent George Aliño, PRO-6 Director for Western Visayas disclosed a major breakthrough in the investigation of the recent multiple murder case in the famous island resort.

According to Aliño, Police Superintendent Remus Canieso, head of Task Force Anton, tasked with the investigation of the case together with other investigating units of CIDG-6 under Chief Inspector Marlo Tayaba and elements of Aklan Provincial Police Office and PRO-6 Crime Laboratory, filed a criminal case for Robbery with Multiple Homicide against German national Uwe FRIEZEL , Chito CATALOGO , and three other John Does.

They were tagged as suspects in the killing of Anton Faustenhauser, the owner of a three-storey mansion in Boracay, Manfred Schoeni, John James Cowperthwaite, and housemaid Erma Sarmiento.

The case against Friezel was developed through scientific evidence gathered at the crime scene, Aliño said. The right footprint of Uwe FRIEZEL matched with a blood caked set of footprint found in a bathroom on the second floor of the mansion where the bodies were found. Other technical findings point to both Friezel and Catalogo as assailants.

More evidence and other testimonies are still being collated to develop an airtight case against the suspects.

The case was filed before the 3 rd Assistant Provincial Prosecutor Bienvenido P Barrios in Kalibo, Aklan.
