AGLIPAY OFF TO U.S. ON OFFICIAL MISSION

PNP Chief, Director General Edgar B. Aglipay will fly to the United States tonight on invitation of the US State Department.

Aglipay has designated PNP Deputy Chief for Administration, Deputy Director General Virtus V Gil, as Officer-in-Charge during his travel abroad.

On Friday (Nov 12), Aglipay will meet with Assistant Secretary Francis X Taylor of the US State Department's Bureau of Diplomatic Security.

On Saturday (Nov 13) he will represent the PNP, along with Chief Superintendent Jaime G Caringal, Director of the Civil Security Group (CSG) in a Conference-Workshop of the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) in Los Angeles , California.

The IACP Conference-Workshop entitled “Athens Olympics- Lessons Learned,” will be held from November 13-17.

The workshop aims to identify security issues encountered during the recently concluded Athens Olympiad, and possibly to formulate corrective measures in similar international events in the future.
