TASK FORCE LUISITA PNP Chief, Director General Edgar B Aglipay today created Task Force Luisita, an investigating team that will look into the violent confrontation between lawmen and striking sugar workers at the Central Azucarera de Tarlac in Tarlac City last Tuesday. The PNP Chief has designated Chief Superintendent Doroteo A Reyes II, PNP Director for Research and Development (DRD) as Chairman of the investigating body with Chief Superintendent Wilfredo Dulay Sr. as Vice Chairman. The other members of the Task Force are: Chief Superintendent Servando Hizon, Director of the PNP Crime Laboratory; Senior Superintendent Rodolfo Mendoza, Deputy Director of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG); Chief Inspector Ermilando O Villafuerte of the PNP Legal Service and Senior Inspector Raymond De Guzman of the Directorate for Investigation and Detective Management (DIDM). According to PNP Spokesman, Senior Superintendent Leopoldo N Bataoil, the PNP Chief gave specific instructions to the Task Force to identify all those responsible for the violence, both from the side of the strikers and the police-military crowd control units. The Task Force will be provided the technical expertise of forensic investigators from the Crime Laboratory.
