PRESS STATEMENT OF POLICE DIRECTOR GENERAL ARTURO C LOMIBAO

In my capacity as concurrent head of the National Anti-Kidnapping Task Force (NAKTF), I have ordered today all concerned police units and law enforcement agencies to coordinate actions with the Police Anti-Crime and Emergency Response (PACER) to secure the safe return of a victim of kidnapping in Manila this morning.

I beg your indulgence that I cannot divulge further details of the incident, including the victim's identity, because we are dealing here with a live kidnapping case and the safety of the victim is paramount among our concerns.

Preventive measures have been put in place and continue to be implemented especially in areas where previous incidents have been reported.

The incident in Manila this morning signals the need for renewed vigilance by the police and the community, and for individuals who might consider themselves potential victims.

I am set to meet with community leaders in the downtown Manila area, including security officers and school officials to discuss more effective ways to improve security and police visibility.

Rest assured the PNP will waste no time to solve the case at the soonest possible time. We will do everything possible to prevent similar incidents from happening.
