SUSPECTS IN KILLING OF CHINOY TRADER; SIX KIDNAP SUSPECTS NABBED Police operatives arrested six suspected members of a notorious kidnapping syndicate believed responsible in the killing of a Chinese-Filipino businessman during a botched kidnapping last month. In a news conference in Camp Crame, PNP Chief, Director General Arturo C Lomibao said the neutralization of the syndicate was the result of a well coordinate police operation involving operatives from the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), the Police Anti-Crime and Emergency Response (PACER), National Anti-Kidnapping Task Force (NAKTF), and the Central Police District (CPD). The suspects were arrested in a series of police operations conducted by combined operatives of the CIDG, PACER-NAKTF, and CPD in Metro Manila and Cavite . Police recovered from the suspects a cal.9mm Madzen machine pistol, a cal.45 pistol, two cal.38 revolvers, two (2) handgrenades, and a motorcycle. The suspects are believed to be member of the LEY-SAM (Leyte-Samar) KFR and Robbery Group that operates in Metro Manila and nearby provinces. The same group is tagged as behind the fatal shooting of businessman Shir Mon Choa and the wounding of his brother Shir Chuang Choa during an attempted kidnapping last July 12, 2005 at around 9:30pm along Mulawinan St. inside the Cabral Industrial Park in Barangay Lawang Bato, Valenzuela City .
