PNP, POLICE GROUPS EXPRESS FULL SUPPORT TO PRESIDENT ARROYO Officers and rank & file of the Philippine National Police today expressed anew its unwavering commitment and support for President Arroyo. PNP Chief, Director General Arturo C Lomibao led police officials in expressing “full allegiance and loyalty to the Republic of the Philippines under the governance of President Arroyo.” A Statement of Support was issued today signed by members of the PNP Command Group, Directorial Staff, Directors of National Support Units, the Regional Director and District Directors of NCRPO, and Police Sergeants Major of based in Camp Crame. A copy of the Statement was handed to the Chief Executive by the Chief PNP during awarding ceremonies of the Ten Outstanding Police Women of the Philippines in Malacañang this morning. The PNP said it “stands squarely behind the rule of law, stays focused on its mission to serve and protect the people, and upholds the right of the State to protect itself.” The PNP said “it is the moral duty of every member of the PNP to exemplify the highest standard of values in the performance of his duty for the best interest of the public he is sworn to serve and protect.” A similar Statement of Support was also jointly issued by organizations composed of active and retired police personnel and non-government organizations affiliated with the PNP. These organizations expressed their “unified and full support, not only to the PNP, but to the duly-constituted authorities particularly in these times of political bickerings that seem to lead the country to the edge of instability.” Signatories to the Statement were: Director General Arturo C Lomibao, in his capacity as Chairman Emeritus of the Association of Chiefs of Police of the Philippines Inc. (ACPPI); Retired General Guillermo T Domondon, President of the Police Retirees Association, Inc. (PRAI); Deputy Director General Avelino Razon Jr., ACPPI President; SSupt Rolando Añonuevo, President of the Police Cavaliers Association (PCAI); Director Marcelo Ele Jr., Chairman of the Police ROTC Graduates for Integrity, Morality and Order (PRIMO); Ssupr Elmer Jamias, President of the PNP Academy Alumni Association Inc. (PNPAAAI); and Mr. Elizier Bongabong, President of the Federation of PNP Accredited NGOs (FPAN).
