PRESS STATEMENT OF POLICE DIRECTOR GENERAL ARTURO C LOMIBAO

I am taking cognizance of the request for police assistance by Mrs. Arlene Doble, wife of TSgt. Vidal Doble who is reportedly inside the San Carlos Seminary.

I am appealing to our church authorities to act on our urgent request to help us in the release of TSgt. Doble into our custody, based on the complaint of Mrs. Arlene Doble that her husband is being held against his will.

Mrs. Arlene Doble said her husband is being prevented from going out of the San Carlos Seminary by some persons.

It appears that a crime of Serious Illegal Detention is in progress at the San Carlos Seminary. And on the basis of Mrs. Doble's complaint, we will act accordingly.

As of this time we are still awaiting for response from the church authorities. Meanwhile, the wife and children of TSgt. Doble are quite disturbed, worried and begging for immediate intercession.

I remain faithful, however, that we shall find a better solution to end this situation thru the cooperation of our church leaders who are in control of the San Carlos Seminary.
