PROBERS RE-ENACT DOBLE'S P2-M PAY-OFF

Police investigators today re-enacted the scenario described by TSgt Vidal Doble when he was allegedly paid P2-million for his “stage managed” admission of being the source of purported illegally wiretapped audio materials.

Based on a sworn statement before investigators of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), Doble narrated how he was contacted by a certain Lito Santiago sometime in April for a meeting with the latter's boss.

The re-enactment is essential to aid investigators in determining the physical possibility of the events described by Doble in his statement.

CIDG probers re-enacted the scene at a restaurant in Quezon City where Doble was allegedly brought by Santiago, and where he later met Atty. Samuel Ong and a Chinese mestizo.

It was in the same breakfast meeting where Ong allegedly played an audio recording from a micro cassette player. Doble said he was able to hear some portions of the audio recording played by Ong.

The re-enactment also aims to establish the relative positions of the personalities allegedly present inside a room at the 5 th floor of the Imperial Palace Hotel in Timog Avenue when Doble was allegedly made to appear in a “scripted” video recording.

It was in the same hotel room where Doble allegedly received P2-million from Ong for his alleged role in the “cinematic production” of his purported admission before Ong.

Doble's statements had been corroborated by his companion Marrieta Santos and his brother Reynaldo Doble who were with him during the alleged pay-off.

The re-enactment will determine other details and possibilities in the investigation of Doble's illegal detention allegedly by Ong and other persons who held Doble inside the San Carlos Seminary and the other events that transpired before and after the incident.
