LOMIBAO INSTALLS LAPEÑA AS PNP CHIEF OF STAFF

PNP Chief, Director General Arturo C Lomibao formally installed Police Director Isidro S Lapeña as Acting Chief of Directorial Staff.

During simple turnover ceremonies in Camp Crame today, Deputy Director General Avelino I Razon Jr., PNP Deputy Chief for Operations, relinquished his concurrent post as Chief of Directorial Staff to Lapeña.

The Chief Directorial Staff is the fourth highest position in the PNP Command Group. It exercises organizational supervision over the ten PNP Directorial Staff Offices, the Police Regional Offices, and National Support Units.

Lapeña, a member of PMA Class 1973, is erstwhile PNP Director for Operations, a post he held for more than a year.

Chief Superintendent Emmanuel Carta assumed over the post vacated by Lapeña as Acting Director for Operations. Carta was former Director of the Police National Training Institute.

Chief Superintendent Gerardo Hilomen , meanwhile, was elevated to the post of Deputy Director for Logistics, replacing Chief Superintendent Eliseo Dela Paz who earlier assumed command as Regional Director for the Eastern Visayas Region.

According to Lomibao, more movement of police officials occupying key positions are expected in the coming weeks and months as a result of the retirement this year of 21 star-rank PNP officers.
