PRESS STATEMENT OF P/DDGEN OSCAR C CALDERON The Philippine National Police is supportive of the efforts of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) in the manhunt operation against PO2 Clifford De Guzman of the Regional Headquarters Support Group of the National Capital Region Police Office (RHSG,NCRPO) for alleged involvement in a case of kidnapping-for-ransom. Earlier, the Manila Police District placed under arrest Clifford's brother PO2 Jeffrey De Guzman of the MPD Anti-Illegal Recruitment Division for alleged participation in the abduction of businessman Henry Sia in Sta. Cruz, Manila last September 1, 2005. It is believed that two other still unidentified suspects are involved in the case along with the brothers De Guzman. The PNP thru the Police Anti-Crime and Emergency Response (PACER) and the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) will extend utmost cooperation and support to the NBI in pursuing this case and accounting for all the suspects. Rest assured the PNP leadership will also initiate administrative proceedings against active PNP personnel involved. We will spare no sacred cows in our campaign to totally rid the police organization of misfits and undesirables as our solemn commitment under the PNP Transformation Program.
