HERO COPS IN COMPOSTELA VALLEY

“Medalya Ng Kagalingan” (Posthumous) was presented by PDDG JESUS A VERZOSA, DCA to Eujeana B. Andres (left), wife of the late PO3 Cris Abel B. Andres who died in action during an ambush at the vicinity of Sitio Tabunan, Barangay Cadunan, Mabini, Compostela Valley Province last May 16, 2008  .

Police Deputy Director General JESUS A VERZOSA, Deputy Chief for Administration (DCA) flew to Compostela Valley Police Provincial Office Headquarters, Nabunturan, Compostela Valley on July 6, 2008 to personally present the award of “Medalya ng Sugatang Magiting (PNP Wounded Personnel Medal) including the “Medalya ng Kagalingan”(Posthumous) to the widow of the late police officer who died during an ambush staged in Campostela Valley.

Accompanied by Police Director LEOPOLDO N BATAOIL, Director for Police Community Relations, General Verezosa personally awarded the following PNP personnel for having been wounded in action during an ambush staged by more or less thirty (30) fully armed Communist Terrorists (CTs) at 2:30 in the morning of May 16, 2008 at the vicinity of Sitio Tabunan, Barangay Cadunan, Mabini, Campostela Valley:

With their expertise in combat operations, despite being surprised by the attack and being outnumbered, the beleaguered PNP personnel managed to seek cover and retaliate forcing the insurgents to withdraw.

Likewise, General Verzosa personally presents the posthumous award to Mrs. Eujeana B Andres, wife of the late PO3 Cris Abel B Andres who was killed during the attack where he displayed his utmost deed of bravery in the face of the insurgents.

The late PO3 Andres will be promoted posthumously to the next higher rank as an act of worthy praise and recognition by the PNP organization.

General Verzosa expressed the PNP’s gratitude and respect to the fallen officer as he extended the police honors with financial assistance to the family of the fresh victim of terroristic acts of the NPA in this part of the region.
