"Mamang Pulis" Service Store offers NFA rice below P20

The Philippine National Police (PNP) Service Stores System is selling NFA Rice at P18.25 per kilo as mandated by the national government with every buyer limited to four kilos of rice every purchase.

PNP Chief PDGen Avelino I Razon Jr said that this is good news to all PNP personnel. "The PNP Service Stores System has been a big help to all 'Mamang Pulis' and 'Aleng Pulis' as well as non-uniformed employees of the PNP. This is our way of helping them keep up with the rising prices of commodities," he added.

The National Food Authority (NFA) limits the "Mamang Pulis" Store to twenty five sacks of rice as quota per week for a total of one hundred sacks per month. According to the Administrator of the PNP Service Stores System Ret PDir Jose Antonio C Salvacion, the stock inventory of NFA rice last only two to three days after delivery to the store.

The "Mamang Pulis" Store also sells tax subsidized groceries, dry goods, wet products, and other basic merchandise to all PNP personnel and their dependents.

"Starting last May 31 there will be a "Tiangge sa Crame" every Saturday. Customers can avail the various promos that we have and some items being sold are marked down up to 50%." He also mentioned.

In line with this, PNP Spokesman PCSupt Nicanor A Bartolome added that the PNP also offers tax subsidized gasoline to all personnel. "All these services provided by the PNP to our 'Mamang Pulis' and 'Aleng Pulis' are meant to help their families and serve as an incentive for their continuing effort in serving and protecting our people," said Gen Bartolome.
