UPDATE ON ABDUCTION OF CES DRILLON AND CREW

The PNP is now making ready for any contingency in relation to the abduction of Ces Drillon et al, by the ASG.

The Chief PNP, Director General Avelino I Razon Jr. arrived today in Zamboanga City and immediately met the RDs of PRO ARMM (PCSupt Joel Goltiao) and PRO 9 (PDir Jaime Caringal), Dir SAF (PCSupt Leodacio Santiago), Dir IG / TF Sanlahi (PCSupt Roland Annunuevo), CG, WesMinCom (LtGen Nelson Allaga), Naval Forces Mindanao (Admiral Emilio Marayag).

A situation briefing by the IG and RD, PRO ARMM was rendered and the CPNP gave his guidance for a contingency plan in any situation that may arise.

Ground troops are in place including air and naval assets.

The combined PNP and AFP units tasked to support the efforts of the Provincial Peace and Order Council of the Gov and the efforts of the Mayor are on standby ready for immediate deployment.

CPNP also conducted a readiness check of standby support units after the conference.

We are concerned about the general condition of the hostages. We are hopeful that they will be released safely.

We will immediately administer medical procedures, nutrition shall be provided, plan for airlift, and reunion with family are also considered.
